Default I thought my car was broken....

When I would hit the gas, it would just rev sloooowly up and it took forever to get up to speed. I thought maybe the injectors / MAP sensor needed cleaning. Didn't help. It felt like a big slug. No pep. It idled smoothly and I checked the plugs which were fine.

Turned out a hose clamp on the blower (SC) was loose and I was the equivalent of NA again.

Picked up a pair of hose clamps from Wal-Mart for $2.39 and ZOOOM! Honda happy again.

The difference is amazing. I haven't been NA since 2004 and had forgotten what the stock engine is like.

For anyone getting a little bored of the Honda and looking to upgrade, I would SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND getting a ride in an SC or Turbo'd S2000. It's like an entirely different car and hugely different.

Even if you go all out and spend ~$10k to do a full upgrade, it's cheaper than shelling out for a new vehicle. It makes sense if it's not a daily driver and you plan on keeping the vehicle forever. My car is an 02 with <40k miles and I can't bear to trade it in yet.

I still can't get over the difference. Around town, from a stoplight, everwhere it makes a difference. I guess it should, you're at stock Honda peak hp by 4k rpms with an SC.

My wife was teasing me: "You can never go back, you know...."

Oh well, she's right.

Just my $0.02

Once you go boost, there is no other roost.

It's bad. My perspective has continued shifting farther and farther to the right side of the dyno curve....

My current impressions:
The 04 S4 is the loafing, cushy, relaxing car.
It is "adequate" for grocery runs, but frustrating in traffic (too slow).

The S2000 without boost is bordering on intolerable.

The S2000 is fun with the higher boost pulley.

The RS4 is okay. Less playful than the Honda, but it gets the job done.

If nobody else is around and it's dry out, I'd rather drive a boosted S2000 than the RS4. It's that good.

Yay HONDA!!!!

It's a shame, all it would take is a CARB legal blower and reinforced diff to the 08 model to revive the vehicle for a few more years.

IMHO, a boosted S2k compares very favorably to the competition when price is factored into the equation.

I may have to look into getting an sc...i have the money to get one but idk what it is that makes me love it just n/a the way it is..i took a ride in a turbo'd s by inlinepro and thought i was strapped to a saturn v apollo mission...the gauges couldn't keep up with the acceleration

Then maybe a mild SC is better suited for you.

I love how the centrifugal blowers match the NA hp and torque curves, but to a higher degree of power.

when i got a ride in my friends supercharged s2k the power delivery felt like stock (so smooth) but has much more horsepower/torque.
