Your parents do that because they care about you. And this is part of your education, and it appears that you need it. I would not entertain any of the "move out" comments. Individualism is way over rated. Having caring parents such as yours is way more valuable than some stupid wheels.

Tell your parents you'll kill yourself if they don't let you get the wheels. Works EVERYtime. YEAH!

EDIT: Don't actually kill yourself....I don't wanna be responsible for anything like this.

Just listen to your parents, especially if they put a roof over your head when they don't have to (I'm assuming you're over 18?). you'll be better off in the long run (yikes, did I just say that?)

tell them that you have someone that wants to buy your rims for more than the amount of the new ones, and that you would be making money by doing this.

if they are anything like what you say they would be proud of you for the smart buy/sell.

that or just keep your rims cause you are living at their house so do what they say. plus the oem rims look fine...

Hey you are lucky to have such parents. I know that it sucks right now but they are really looking out for you. Believe me as a parent of twin 14 year old girls and a 17 year old boy, you will understand someday and be thankful.

I was in a similar situation. My mom is asian and I still live at home. Being 21 and living at home has it's down sides, but the pros out weigh the cons most definitively. I'm a very individualistic person and would love to move out, but for me with school going on still, it just seems like a better choice for me. When I wanted to buy something for my car, my parents would complain just like yours are that I should "save money". I finally just started buying stuff without asking (why should I ask anyway?). When they asked what it was, I'd tell them but I would never tell them the price. I made the mistake of telling them how much my Spoon BBK cost and they flipped out.. They just couldn't comprehend why I would pay $1700 for two calipers. So you can always just try buying without asking next time lol. It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

Well I'm with your parents. I can't comprehend why you'd spend almost 2 grand for 2 calipers either.

sounds like you need to listen to your mom

blowing money on car under this economy climate doesn't make much sense. You'll need your degree just to get a decent living so start working on that.

what's kinda "gay" is that you are still too young and having that rebel sh-t feeling about life. The average price for a college book is around 150-175 now, that's on top of parking fee, tuition, gas, etc use that 2 grand for something meaningful
