good points. i simply meant by driving experience. all the other stuff like exotic materials and high price tag wasn't computed into the original question.

did u ever see the top gear where an evo out did a lambo on a track? sure an evo might not be a supercar, but it begs the question, where's the gap?
Ya, but have you ever seen a Versace Edition Lancer?

Once again, it's just a different class of car. A Lambo is no-comprimise bling. You still aren't going to see Paris Hilton picking up an Evo as another fashion accessory.

can someone explain why black wheels look good? would rolling on all spare tires look good as well? i know im not making any friends today

the italians and europeans are masters at creating status. they create so much that the rest of the world wants to be like them. if you've ever been to italy, though, you can't help but feel like the wool has been pulled over your eyes. 'question about price. if you have to ask..." oooh ahhh.

i believe that many old men (and women, Ms. Perky and friends) love and bought the S because they dont care so much about status as youngsters do. they know a good thing/deal when they see it, instead of letting status fog over their objective vision.
I can't agree there. I know too many old men rolling around in Ferraris, Porschas, and 7-series to think old men don't care about status.

Not to mention... the S2000 is pretty nice status still for a "youngster." What the hell, "good deal"? It sounds like we're talking about an ecobox here. The S2000 is still a sports car that starts in the $30ks, where most main-stream luxury cars are.

in the early days of s2ki and the s2000, before it became a asian ricer car, the most common person to be seen driving it was an old white man (in my area). many old men never grow up and always need to feel like an alpha male. so you're completely right. but i was just noticing that more old people care less about status than young people, esp based on evolutionary theory.

think of the most expensive brands. gucci, versace, benz. look at all asian countries. they barely have any well known luxury brands. the high status asian people look as close to europeans as possible with LV, etc. we're getting off topic, so ill shut up. thnx for the discussion.

I'd say "I don't want to be like them", but I'm a product of Germany so I can't really

Ya I guess if you're somebody who lives off brand names that Europe is ahead of the curve. If you're that somebody you probably also need to watch Fight Club a few dozen times.

I'm the kind of person that likes style and whatnot, but I think flaunting "brands" is tacky as hell.

Cant really say that. Ferrari's have no torque either........(not compared to the s2k, but compared to other cars in the class)
