If the S2000 was offered in a 2.2 and 2.0 at the same time...
Having sold my 385hp Camaro SS for the S2000, the minute increase in torque from the '04 model would not be enough to offset the disappearance
of that wonderful 9,000 redline so if I was STILL in the Camaro right now and trading in, I'd get an '03.
The newbie wheels wouldn't mean much to me because I don't like them and I'm not a big fan of suspension mods meant to "tame" a sportscar (like stablity control, etc...things like that). I've never driven my S2000 so close to the limit (on public roads anyways) that its handling betrayed me so I saw no need for changes in that regard but that's just my own preference.
I love the new rear fascia however and could always use another inch or two of elbow room (6-4, 230) but all in all, this is the first car I've ever owned that after two years of ownership, didn't have me entertaining the thoughts of the new sheetmetal on the block.
I might actually own this damn thing when all is said and done.

Based on my interpretation of Honda's numbers and their published torque curve, and not having actually driven the car - I'd most definitely prefer the F20C. I think the increased torque of the F22C1 is less of an advantage than the higher redline of the F20C is an advantage (which allows greater advantage through gearing.) I think Honda messed up with this one. If the F22C1 made 250hp, it'd be a clear winner, but alas that doesn't seem to be the case.
(Hopefully we'll get a real dyno chart posted soon.)

as people have already mentioned, the 2.0 liter that makes 120 hp/liter and features the 9k redline are all part of the s2000 character. these traits are what makes the s2000 IMO. i know high hp/liter ratios and redlines don't win races, but its all about how honda originally intended the s2000 to be like. im just glad i got the original.
but on a side note, i hope the new '04 owners enjoy their cars. i like the new changes a lot.
