I had to look up vitriole. Nice work Road Rage!

The reason why we see this back biting from this certain group of owners is because they have a poor self image and they relate their car ownership to their happiness. How can they be happy having something that is not the best.

Come on people, it is a car, it doesn't control your happines unless you allow it to.

Why have we not seen any 04 owners saying.....00-03 suck 04s are the best. You think it because they are happy? I do.

Doesn't own an S2000 - so this is gratuitous vitriole? I do not get it.

Vitriol: Bitterly abusive feeling or expression. Caustic.

as people have already mentioned, the 2.0 liter that makes 120 hp/liter and features the 9k redline are all part of the s2000 character.

I've just ordered a UK 04 and was SO glad when Honda UK could finally confirm to me that we were retaining the F20C with the 9,000 rpm redline.

To be honest, I've never really understood those people who complain that you have to rev the hell out of this car to get the most out of it. Duh! That's largely what attracted me to it. And it's hardly like it's a chore to do so, given how slick the gearbox is!

I guess the complaint about lack of torque must be a largely American thing - a high-revving 4 banger must be a real anathema to the majority used to the lazy power of a big V8.
