Default Ignition Switch Recall

Just paid 400.00 dollars to replace inition swithch because key comes out while care is still in drive. Found out "after dealer" had done repairs my vin number was not covered under the recall, even though the systems were exactly the same, (key can be removed whild car still in drive.). Doesn't seem fair some owners get this repaired for free and I have to pay $400 dollars. Any advice and/or similar experience?

Did the say it would be covered initially? If they didn't give you an estimate before hand, I would say you have grounds to not pay it.

You have a very rare S2K that comes with a "Drive" position in your transmission, that's why you have to pay extra to get the ignition switch fixed. Congratulations. Does you transmission also have a "Park" position too?

I am truly stumped by this "in drive" thing. Please explain what you mean? Is this even an S2000? I can only assume that it is since it's posted in "S2000 Talk".

It's most likely an Accord, which did have a recall on some models for the park interlock not working.
