Default Installing new front spoiler question -

Just purchased a new oem front spoiler for the '05. I have a small scrape on the bottom front of the bumper - about an inch and a half wide. The scrape goes through the paint and to the black underneath. This area will be completely covered once the new spoiler goes on, but I thought about what I should do to protect against any future problem. Is it okay to just touch up the area with a paint pen and then install the spoiler after it is fully dried, or should I have a body shop fix it right first?

Kind of an anal question, but I figured now is the time to deal with it - before the spoiler is installed.

Thanks.

I'd just cover it up. Just personal preference but I don't see the point in doing a backyard fix on something you are going to cover.

I have a nice scrape on my front bumper that I aam planning on covering up with the OEM lip as well. I don't see the point in trying to paint it/touch it up since its plastic. If it were exposed metal then it would be a different story.

no point in painting something no one's going to see.

dont worry about the scrape but id apply a layer of high quality wax on the area that will covered by the lip. this prevents marking and scaring incase you want to take the lip off later on.
