It's about 4 months old with about 7k miles on it.

The sound developed over the last month or so.

 

You might be able to turn the mufflers upside down and reverse install . Don't bother with the hangers but just long enough to see if the sound shifts from one side to the other.
If you should have a bad muffler, I would think Invidia would be able to exchange it for you.

 

any chance of a re-up? the files don't seem to be working and I'm rather curious...

Its too hard to tell which side it's coming from since it's soo loud.

I'm going to plug the passenger one up with something to test it. It could very well be something else.

I was hoping it was the resonator. Oh well at least the drone is cut in half now.

This is an old thread, I know. However I saw video's with the Vibrant ultra quiet resonator install on an Invidia V3 exhaust and it quieted the drone, etc but still left enough sound and tone to be cool. I believe it lowered it about 20db at 5500 RPMs. I'm considering doing this so I figured why not just bring this thread back. I should note I just bought the car a few days ago and the exhaust came on it, I'm trying to work with what I have. I figure doing this would be cheaper and easier than trying to find, buy and installing a stock exhaust from someone plus still give me the added flow over stock.

My question is...I cant weld so is there another way to do this myself with say clamps or should I just suck it up and pay a muffler shop to weld it on? I dont want something that will hold together a few months or be a pita by always having to mess with. I was planning to install the 2.5" Vibrant Quiet resonator I believe as I read on another board that 3" will be louder and that 2.5 is what I want on the Invidia v3 on a s2000. I do not know this so if anyone has experience let me know.

Can anyone advise me on what parts to buy and how to go about this install? I have never messed with exhaust but as long as it can be done without welding I can do it if someone will explain how.

 

I am curious as well about this old thread and would lvoe to see more information. I am sure others have done it since then. I have the Tsudo wich is basically a Invidia n1 style. I need to know if I need the 2.5 or 3" resonator. My piping is 70mm right now. I too am curious if I can somehow clamp this in without having to have it welded up and it still seal good and not leak? Anyone?
