It's Official!
The only reason I question it is it's exactly as it appeared last year in the '01 brochure! For the record there are three S2000 markets; North America, Europe/Oceania, and Japan. For MY '01 there where 8 official colors released from Tochigi:
Berlina Black (all markets)
Siverstone Metallic (all markets)
Grand Prix White (NA/AUS (UK "expected"))
New Formula Red (Japan/NA)
Ascari Red (UK)
Monte Carlo Blue Pearl (Japan/UK/AUS)
Indy Yellow (Japan/AUS)
Spa Yellow (NA/UK)
Midnight Pearl (Japan)
The post shows 8 paint chips, same as '01? I see no verbage suggesting blue on blue is coming to the US? Also there are 8 interior "chips shown" while today there is only red and black? If a new blue is coming in '02 what are the other 5 colors shown in the post?
Just curious of course.........

Firstly, this is gonna make our cars look like the Mazda Miata or MX5 for JDM terms. The earlier batch has plastic rear like us and the new ones have glass instead. Which I think is going to be a reality if there is indeed a demand for glass instead and producing is possible.
Secondly, JDM Type V comes in all sorts of colors just like the normal ones. The one Honda Japan used to feature is indeed dark pearl blue. Interior is either black or red, no questions about that one. While other than the added color to the Type V range, they are included with all existing JDM color codes as well. Black, White, Red, Silver, Blue, Yellow & Dark Pearl Blue.
Lastly, I don't know how many times this has been mentioned but I'm gonna to say it once again that ACURA is just a marketing term to bring upon a better image of HONDA, this goes the same for LEXUS to TOYOTA and so forth. They will never become singled out to be one of it's own, not in the past, now or in the future. Those who are going to Japan and who've already been there will and should know how much different it is and how stupid sometimes marketing can do to a product.

I am going to buy this car!
I have had a deposit down on a possible Blue '02 since January. I now plan to contact the dealership tomorrow to ask for confirmation.
This will be a very cool looking roadster! IMHO, of course.
Thank you Jay!

There is a Midnight Pearl. Perhaps that's what your thinking of. It is the only color addition made to the Type V (S2000 series) as reported by Honda. If the Midnight Pearl is a shade of blue, it's probably much darker than the carbon blue my wife has.

Some thoughts:
What's with the blue "convertible top boot"? I like it!
The dash is very different... Who did that????
Is Rick Hesel now working for Honda (I Hope!) because the center console and "shifting boot" look (VERY)similar to his design standards???. Hmmm?!?
Or... maybe Giampero is now the master designer?!?!?
Lot's to think about from one post, eh?

Anyone know where to find the nav system (i assume thats what the panel in the middle of the dash is) and who does that install. It looks very clean in that pic, and I'd like to get it done to my S2K.
