Government statistics for victimization (USA)
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/guns.htm

Gun laws and stats (Australia)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Australia

Gun law (Kennesaw, GA)
http://www.rense.com/general9/gunlaw.htm

Read some stats and make an educated guess. don't just go on what everyone says.

that last link is awesome. i hadn't heard about that but it seems that the result is what i expected. crime will actually drop if everyone owned a gun. good for kennesaw.

I understand the original intent of the 2nd amendment, being that people need to be armed in order to protect the state from foreign aggression and the people from the oppression of government. My government teacher pointed at the 5th and 2nd amendments and said, "without these you could loose this" and pointed to the first amendment.

There are plenty of problems in our country, with out government. One is the people's willingness to be lead blindly. The purpose of the constitution was to create a more perfect union between states (lower cased for a reason), the bill of rights was designed to protect the people from that union and keep that union fearful of the people. We have lost that. The people are scared of their government, be accused of terrorism and you could be gone. Ask Jose Pedilla about that one.

My feelings about guns, too many people have them who shouldn't. At times guns can kill people. I don't believe a child can understand what killing another person really is at 5yrd with a gun. Though I won't blame murderous intent on the weapon, Cho was sick it wasn't the gun's fault. Though he should never have been allowed to come near a gun. That is what we need to fix. There are a lot of people who shouldn't have guns, and there are a lot of people who can own guns responsibly. Finding the balance is almost impossible, but we must try. I think we need to bring back the assault riffle ban, what's the purpose of owning one?

I have had my keys scrap the wheel and have two marks on the wheel now. Luckily I had the wheel turned both times and the marks are on the bottom.

Hmmmm, you have 15 times our population and 208 times our killings.
USA- 80 people per square Mile

Australia- 6.7 per square Mile

Pretty easy not to kill someone when you have a 2 Day walk to kill someone outside your family. (No offense to any kangaroos)

pffft, 2 miles, the only restriction would be line of sight.
