thats slightly misleading. we don't have 208 times your "killings". we have 208 times your "gun murders" according to the statistics you posted. that's to be expected since if guns are legal to own, there will be many more available. what i think would be more telling is the number of violent crimes, not just gun crimes.

and hey, maybe the aussies are just poorer shots!

over in singapore, with EXTREMELY strict gun laws, u can get 20 years jail just for possession.

if you use a gun for robbery purpose, the court hangs u.

basically, we only get to use guns when we are recalled for Reserve training once a year. we then get to play with M16s, GPMGs, grenades..

oh yeah... even carrying a concealed knife gets u a couple years in the slammer..

Not sure but not a lot different I expect as our regulations have always been tighter than yours. Hand guns and concealed weapons have always been illegal to my knowledge.

which is exactly my point. enacting a ban on guns didn't appreciably affect the violent crime rate.

Umm great.

Our gun laws didn't go from lax to tight. They went from tight to tighter.

Still doesn't explain why your violent crime rate is 4 times our and your gun murders 15 times ours.
