As far as Scottsdale, you're right it is fairly expensive (not like California though), but for younger people, more affordable areas are Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa. Most of the clubs are in Scottsdale, and all of those cities are within a short drive of Scottsdale.

Be careful about planning to commute to a job however, traffic is getting worse here every year. I used to live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and when I moved in 2001, traffic was almost to the point of being like LA (stop and go almost all the time). It is not that bad here, but certainly during commute times, it is stop and go on the major freeways.

again as mention above, i too in military and i move like there is no tomorrow and i will be doing so for until i decide to get out.

it will get better once you moved to where ever you decide to go.

well at least you are not moving to iraq next year... ....again like me.
