After my car sits in rain, I have noticed that water drips from my interior light while i'm turning sharp in either direction. The water ususally falls on my leg or on the seat. Has anyone else encountered this problem? It seems odd that the water can get in to the light fixture. I looked real carefully at it and the water is not getting in where the convertible clips in. Instead, it is between the windshield tape and the actual windshield. Do you think that I may have damaged something when i removed the windshield tape? Please help!

The tape does not function to seal anything, it's merely superficial covering. I don't think that's your problem. I removed my tape about a year ago, drive in the rain regularly and haven't experienced any leaks.

Well, I'm glad it's not the tape. Many people would be having problems. What could it be then?

I would think it would have to be related to the sealing of the top. Do you regularly treat your seals with a good silicone sealant/grease?

Don't the blacks come without the tape? If that's true, I don't see how the tape could serve as a seal.

I haven't treated the seals with anything yet, but the leak is not coming where the convertible top meets the windshield structure. Its where the frame meets the windshield.

Excellent point, Wickerbill.

Well, then, it sounds like you're pretty much screwed! A trip to your most trusted dealer may be in order.
