I did ~1000 miles in a day a few times with no problem. Did chicago to st. louis (~4 hours) then st. louis to san antonio two days later. I always found the car pretty comfy. And the heat off the engine/tranny keeps your feet toasty during colder months

In September I bought my car from The Hard Top Guy at Ganley in Cleveland. I drove straight through to Seattle. Was a poor choice and dangerous due to fatigue at the end (no amount of Red Bull seemed to help). I had a meeting that was necessary to attend and thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal to do. Wrong. The drive was beautiful with great roads for a S 20000 but the fuel stops were annoying. Almost ran out of gas once in South Dakota in the middle of the night. Poor planning and unfamiliar road made it a very stressful trip. I also wasn't willing to exceed the speed limit by more than 8 mph so it was a longer trip than it may have been for some.

Yeah, sun screen is a definite "must" in this car. On the trip I mentioned above, I spent a day playing around in the Sierra Nevada range (Yosemite Nat'l Park) in California. It was clear, sunny, and absolutely wonderful and when I got to my destination, I was as red as a Washington apple. I did find out, however, that the UV protection on my sun glasses worked very well. I looked like a photo negative of a racoon.

Well everyone add me to the list!

I bought an S2000 yesterday (about to post a few questions in S2000 talk, LoL) and left that same morning for North Carolina from Miami. I put about 800 miles on the car thus far. By the time I get back to Miami next week it will be close to 2000 round trip.

I will say this, the first day I drove it I was thinking it was a mistake. The first 2 hours I had the top down and it was fine, after that I put it up for 2 hours or so and I felt pretty . . . compact lol. I think it just takes some getting used too.

I stopped in St. Augistine for the night and the next day finished the trip with the top down from St. Augistine till Rocky Mount NC (visiting family). It was 8-ish hours or so and by the time I got to Rocky Mount it was probably darn near freezing if it wasn't. I stopped to buy a thicker sweeter that covered my neck at one of the outlet malls someplace in South Carolina. =)

All in all, if you can keep the top down, its not that bad! I bet its nicer when its not so cold out!

My 2000 model year: 800 miles, 13 hours from Charlotte, NC to Chicago, IL.

My 2002 model year: 200 miles, 3 1/2 hours from Charlotte, NC to Charleston, SC when I moved there in late October.

Reviving an old thread

I purchased mine in Philly 3 years ago and drove it to Chicago that day ~900 miles.
Yesterday I drove from the NW burbs to Valdosta GA ~1,000 miles.

Right at 300 miles per tank for the entire trip.

Caught the last half of Tennessee with the sun setting while top down through the mountains.

It was a good day

150 Miles is the most I've done and wouldn't want to do over 300 for sure
