Baltimore to Nashville (approx 600 miles and 10 hours). The stopping for gas every 250 miles or so was great, it gave me an excuse to walk around!

The S is just as comfortable as most other cars I've driven for distance and 10x the fun! I drove into Bristol TN (just to say I've been there) thinking where's the track, I'll show Jeff how to really drive!

The top was down all the way going there but coming back I hit a thunderstorm AND my tires weren't in the best shape so I had to do a lot of concentrating . But still I kept thinking, "this is where I belong"!

Wouldn't trade it for any comfortable, long range vehicle.

On Oct.31 2008 I moved from Brookfield Ct. to Tucson AZ.My son lived in San Diego so
I went there first to say hello and went back to Az.The trip was about 3500 and at age 60 I was perfectly comfortable and had a great time.I did about 700+ miles a day.

A little off the subject .... I just got back from Tibet and met people who had escaped
the Chinese rule to end up in Darhmasala India. These people would walk at least 1500
miles over the Himalayas to find santuary.

Driving an s2000 is like driving a Rolls after that.

Detroit -> Dallas roughly 1200 miles and 20 hours. Stopped at St. Louis for the night. Only issue I had was the blue tape started to unpeel after driving through couple of thunderstorms.

I would love to take a long road trip in my S2000. Longest I've gone is about 500-600 miles round trip...with kws and recaros. I was totally comfy.

How is the car uncomfortable...and how out of shape/broken down are these people complaining about their backs hurting after a "long" trip?

It wasnt in a S...but I've done a 32 hour non stop burn on 2hrs of sleep after acting like hooligans in L.A. and Vegas. It was with 2 other people..we were helping a friend move back from California. I can't sleep in cars...but i did doze a bit in the back seat when it was someone else's turn to drive. so I guess it might have been 3hrs total sleep lol. We were packed in there like rats with all my friends stuff that he was taking back with him. It sucked. But I did get in my civic and drive to my gf's house as soon as I got home lol.

I've also gone from Chicago to north Dakota and back a few times by myself...non stop each way in a broke ass EF with no A/C with blown shocks and eBay coils. Doing it in my S even with the recaro pole positions and KWs would be just fine. I'm 5'11 175-180lbs.

Louisville to Atlanta. I flew up to Louisville early on a Sat morning, got the car and drove 6 hours back to Atlanta. No better way to get to know your car than spending 6 solid hours in it, only stopped once in Nashville and I made it on one tank of gas (I started with half a tank, the light came on in Nashville, filled it back up and the S had exactly a half tank when I pulled into my garage in Atlanta.)

I haven't done a long trip in the S2000 yet, but I used to go back and forth between Austin, TX and Pasadena, CA on a regular basis. 1300+ miles in two leisurely 13 hour days. Enough for a good stretch each gas stop and a decent lunch. Deming NM is the 1/2 way point. Yup, 1/2 way is barely out of Texas. The last trip was from the Rio Grande Valley, so add another 275-ish. I didn't make it out of Texas before I got stir crazy and decided to stop in El Paso for the night. 14 hours and I still didn't leave the state!

The I-10 is fricking boring. I wouldn't recommend it.

To the OP, 200 miles between stops? 200 miles on a tank is my worst stop-and-go mileage. And 1300 miles to Houston? From Blythe, CA, plus another 100 miles, maybe.

2500 miles from Phoenix to Washington DC in 2.5 days (33 hours of driving) with a full loaded trunk and passenger seat. Was ready to do it again when all was said and done. I love this car, love the seats, and would have regretted doing this trip in any other car, especially through Tennessee and Southern Virginia.

Averaged about 330 miles to a tank, and those were my only stops other than sleep.
