Quite inventive but the problem I see with the first one is that once the airbox lid is on, the "cold" air has less chance to get to the filter. The lid has the "tunnel" that still brings the air that gets first shot at the filter and of course, as we all know, this air is still being heated by the top of the rad. If the tunnel was removed and the airbox intake horn was plugged, then he'd have something. The second effort makes for a "neat and tidy" front engine bay but again, it funnels all the radiator heated air directly into the airbox.
