loss of power, any suggestions
before i take my 6 month old s2k to my dealer, can anyone help with suggestions to this problem. i get up to 6000+rpm in 3rd, change up to 4th and there's no power for a few seconds. i usually have to change back down to 3rd and start again. most frustrating. any ideas?
don't know if this might be it but you might try it.. my car burned through oil like crazy during break in..
any time the oil dropped to low the car (ECU, or whatever) would restrict vtec.. i'd fill it back up to the H and it would run fine.

Kerr,
Are you experiencing a drop in RPMs? If so you may what to check out this thread about faulty IAT sensors. I had a idling problem. The dealer replaced my IAT sensor, and the problem seems to have gone away.

Sounds similar to the problem I had, resolved but removing the MAP sensor, rapping it with the screwdriver, and reinstalling. Although it sounds like a fluke fix it has worked for a number of us including one Honda engineer.
i burned over a quart of oil (dont remember exactly how much) in less than 1000 miles... my car still ran fine, just no vtec surge. checked the oil (from suggestions here), added some and vtec came back.
btw, my car was broken in by the book- i kept it under 107 mph at all times (in 6th)!!!
did not vtec until 601 miles.
it is not using very much oil anymore (approaching 4000 miles now).

Step one: check oil (read stick from the passenger side
). If oil is OK go to step 2:
Step 2: Remove the MAP sensor as suggested and tap it a bit. The MAP sensor is easy to locate. Stand on the drivers side with the hood open. Look at the airbox and follow the air intake back. The MAP sensor is the sensor that says MAP sensor on it..............
