Lost screw on comptech intake box cover wile driving...
I could not find the screw so I guess its lost but what I am wondering could it of caused damage anywhere in my engine bay? Also any ideas on how to get the intake box to not rub so much while under throttle? I taped a piece of foam on the intake box lid so it would not rub so much againt the hood, the sound got better but it still has the bad sound at certain RPMs. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

I hate that intake. I lost a screw from mine too and the thing rubbed like crazy. I put a shirt over the box lid so it didnt tear it up. I dont know why comptech doesnt just make the box a half inch shorter that it is now.

I had that also, simply e-mail them and they will send you out 4 of them free of charge the first time. Use a little thread lok, the Blue one, you can pick them up from you local hobby shop for RC cars and it should keep them in place. I lost 2 of them and not with the tread lok, I have not lost a single one in the past 8 mos. Knock on wood.

No....they won't. I'm starting to "hate that box" too.
Here is my email conversation with them from this past week:
Andrew,
You can try finding the screws at a local hardware store. The size used is
10-24x1/2". If you need something to help keep them in, you can try using a
little Loc-tite to help keep the screws down. Let me know if that works for
you.

I just installed the CAI and after about 100 miles, one of the screws
for the lid backed out and jumped overboard. Can you send me a couple
and any advice for keeping them. I was trying not to crack the lid,
you know. (Purchased thru Rick's)
