Default Maint Light?

I was cruising on the freeway at about 5,000 rpm in 4th gear and the "Maint Req" light start coming on. It blinked for a little bit and then went away. I got home and checked the oil and everything looked fine. Any thoughts on what this could be? Should I go into the dealer to have it checked? In traffic I like to keep the car around 5,000 so I can shoot and dart for open spaces, is it not good to keep the car at that high of RPM?

I'm guessing you have about 7000 miles on the car? Your first scheduled maintenance should be at 7500 miles according to Honda's maintenace schedule. The light is reminding you.

Make sure they reset the warning light after the 7500 miles service.

I have almost 6000 miles on the car so that sounds about right. Will this light flash up every now and then when I am driving? Kind of feels like the car has a mind of its own.
