The header (of course) didn't fit worth a damn:

So Rene started grinding:

Meanwhile the front Teins go on:

And I start messing with the steering rack:

The orange tow hooks got repainted:

And the night ended with another batch of dimensioned pictures sent to Hytech over in California to aid in the design of my custom header....

Update 28

Being in such a hurry to get the car home, I took it home from the body shop before they got the chance to wet sand it (or even wash it for that matter). Because of this, the paint needed some work to bring it up to snuff with the rest of the car....

That's where Woody comes in:

He washed the areas and applied some voodoo paste looking stuff with that Porter Cable thingy and the results were just incredible.

Meanwhile over in the engine bay we reinstalled the upper radiator hose connection which was modified by Rene to seal the heater output (which was hitting the frame).

Hereis how we finally mounted the 2 fuel lines, clutch line, and rear brake line:

Here are the fuel feed and return lines:

This is where the clutch line ends up:

Then, we modified more brackets to secure the fuel lines:

Installed the steering rack (with a few shims on the driver's side):

Update 29

More rack pics:

Engine wiring harness installed:

This is where we were thinking of running it into the passenger compartment:

Until we saw that there was no way to mount the AEM near the pedal box...

So we decided to put it in the middle or on the passenger side:

We drilled between two holes in the center to make one big hole:

Much better:

We modified a grommet to fit:

Meanwhile, John runs the fuel pump & tail light wires up towards the front:

Then we figured out how the brake switch worked and tried it:

Noice!

Every few days I've been shooting the lip with more paint:

Radiator fan installed (16" 2600CFM):

Wiring spaghettios:

Dandaman helps out with the coolant overflow bottle:

Meanwhile, my dad was trying to install the Miata throttle cable onto the throttle body and realized that the cable was too long. A custom bracket will have to be made...

That's right ladies:

Studying the electrical manual:

Me and Dario referencing Berlina Babe's car to figure out how the harnesses work:

Also, PARTS CAME IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first two of three Prosport Premium 60mm gauges (Oil Pressure & Water Temperature:

APR? Who are they?

Don't they make carbon fiber stuff?

Hmm...

They do! Here's an APR GTC-200 wing with 12.5" high adjustable risers, two pedestal positions. This thing is serious, 0-15 degree angle of attack adjustablility. At full tilt it can generate over 1000lbs of downforce at 120mph.

Well...

Engine wiring harness is 100% connected except for one oil pressure sensor which is broken and on order from Honda.

Dashboard harness A is fully labeled and all connections are accounted for (this is the important one that powers the gauges).

Dashboard harness B is fixing to get eliminated, this is the other half of the dash harness that controls the top/hazards/ignition switch/immobilizer/SRS system etc.

Last night we traced the starter wire in the connector between dash harnesses A & B and we connected the battery and jumped it. The engine turned over!

What does this mean? That if we replicate the fuse & relay assembly that control the starter at that junction, we can fully eliminate the entire key/switch/immobilizer system and the AEM will never know the difference.
