Quick update:

-Brake ducts and front undertray (as much as we could) installed
-Adjustable front sway bar installed
-Car weighs in at 2010lbs with half a tank of gas
-Car is cornerweighted to within 14lbs crossweight
-Alignment ended up at 2.2/2.4 rear camber, .79/.75 front camber, 4.4 caster, .1 toe out in front, .1 toe in rear.
-Power to weight ratio is slightly better than a 997 911 GT3

Pics tonight!

Everything else looks good, but I'm surprised by the under 1 degree of camber in the front. Was that all you could get, or is there a reason for running low camber up front?

That is an excellent accomplishment! Your Miata is about 200 lbs lighter than mine with nearly double the horsepower.

We're not exactly sure of the cause but the hunch right now is the modified front subframe. It's possible that the plate connecting both sides was welded at the correct length and then contracted which would pull the bottom of the subframe together causing a loss of camber adjustment.

Also, they agreed that I could probably use the Mazdaspeed tie rod ends as there is visual evidence that the car might have bumpsteer.

We'll know for sure this weekend...

Dude not to hate but you spent alot of money on little performance you could have gotten 50 lbft more torque and another 100 hp easy by just turboing the mazda motor. And spent alot less, than you did on the drivetrain alone of the s2k. I doubt you think you are the same power to wieght as a gt3. last time i checked they where 400 or so hp. given 3400lbs if i remember correctly you are about the same. But if you take me or some of my miata buddys at 275 whp + with cars that are Daily driver reliable and even have AC and driver included for 2450lbs on a full tank of gas, with AC/PS etc. Our WHP numbers are almost better than your bhp estimates. It is such a shame you had to butcher a miata so. but by all means dont let this stop you from enjoying it. At least the process and work is all top notch even if it is abit backwards thinking.

ok first of all its a track car not a street car get that straight, second the miata drive train blows turbo or not, the s2000 engine makes way more power na than a miata motor, and all he has to do is buy the 2.7 storker and that motor will make way more power than any miata motor turboed. as it is right now the S motor making 232 rwhpis great considering that the header is just temporary untill the custom header arrives and not to mention the cams.with that the S motor will make more power alone with the new header and cams then a miata motor turboed........I tell you what how bout you bring you car to the track and se if you can hang with the M2000, better yet ill have my Rx-7 there lets see if you can hang with that first.

its not cool that you come on this thread and bash or hate on ppl you dont know, and claim that the miata turbo is faster or makes more power than an NA s2000 motor, I got a question for you what do you think will happen if he did go turbo with the s2000 motor and a car that wieghs 2000lbs? one way more power than the miata drive train.

so get outta here with that crap..

you wanna see what will out run what come to the track this weekend bottomline.

and remeber its a (TRACK CAR)
