No it isn't. The Off-Topic sections are to shoot the shit.

Then please explain what "S2000 Talk" is for? I was under the impression it was about talking about S2000's (as the name implies).

My "pointless threads" all include talking about the S2000.
- Ideal body type for the S2000?
- Mileage anxiety (about driving the S2000)

Looks like "S2000 talk" to me.

To be fair I think what majority of members using this section is more for general info about S2000s that doesnt relate to mechanical work or mods or maintenance. Its more like, hey look at this cool article on S2000's or hey look at this brand new 2009 S2000 going for 50k. You aren't wrong in that your topics are s2000 related, but you also have to remember we aren't the BRZ/FRS/86 forum where 90% of the owners are under the age of 25. The majority of owners here are in their 30s or older. largely due to this being an older car where very few (in comparison) were made.

Based on your posts you seem like a young guy and I assume you had similar posts in your SI Forum. Its a different environment here. Not saying its better or worse, just different. And not everyone cares what body type you need to be, or how many girls can you fit, or how much stance you can have with a rocket bunny kit. People here care more about the legacy of the car, cool new tidbits we haven't found yet, seeing the few gems that are still around and occasionally what cool track builds people are doing.

Not even touching the "it's a shit topic/it's not a shit topic" thing, I just want to say...

Whenever I buy a pair of pants, I'm like, "Man **** these pants. They shouldn't cost anything".

But then I end up like...wearing them. And then I'm like..."Dam I shouldn't wear these bc when I sell them to the next guy, he better pay me like 80% of their original value". So then I'm anxious AF all day ab the pants.

Like...will the next owner cherish them like I did? I remember once I sat down on a candy bar and everyone thought I shat myself. We laughed and laughed. I really miss those pants.

People just out there hatin on a player who is tryinna sell some used pants.

When I was a youngster my folks bought a new 64 Falcon. One of the 1st things my dad did was put plastic covers on the seats.(front and rear). This was done to keep the seats like new. Some of you old timers might remember them. For 3 years we sat on hot seats in the summer and cold seats in the winter, and they were slippery too. Very uncomfortable. My dad traded the car 3 years later for a 67 Fairlane. I remember seeing our former car and talking to the new owner. he said the 1st thing he did was to remove the seat covers! He was happy with the like new interior. It was at that point I realized I wasn't going to be saving any car I had for the next person without enjoying it myself.

The S is only getting more affordable as miles go up. You are going to get owners who are under and under 20 now who can obtain them

There's a stickied thread at the top of the page that says what it is for - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ta...rules-1042747/

To which my response was/is, no it isn't to just shoot the shit.

A lot of us have been here for 10+ years, the topics you're posting about have all been discussed plenty of times over the years and if you'd do a bit of searching you'd see that. Keeping the forum active is one thing, posting random threads simply for the sake of posting is tiresome for some of us.

Its just weird when someone's first thread ever talks about now wanting to spend the money to maintain the car and even goes as far as pissing off Billman, to all of a sudden looking at spending money on making the interior nice, to starting threads on "i dont want to drive this car but i love it so much". Can you understand where i'm coming from? THats literally you saying "this car sucks why should i spend money on it, omg i want to make my car nice, this is the best car ever!".
