Thanks for the info. I am going to change the tranny fluid right away. I did some searching and it seems a lot of other owners have complained about this issue as well. I think it's mostly my shifting technique that needs improving. Can you permanently damage your tranmission from doing it once or twice??

Thanks for all your input,

Thanks for all your input,
If you've only done it once or twice, don't sweat it. You're fine. If you've done it about once a week for two year, then you might eventually need some serious work done. I speak from experience

I had grinding shifts from 1-2 a few times. It was operator error.

This is exactly what happened to me the first couple of weeks i got it. Sometimes it happens now but sometimes it doesnt. Just make sure your clutch is all the way down, and kind of baby the shift dont force it, just feel it engagement of the gearbox and slide it back.

Has anyone had their gear pop out on them. It happens to me all the time gosh im so unaware and im in the middle of an intersection accelerating in neutral.

There is a TSB out on the 2nd gear pop-out issue - if you can replicate it, the dealer will replace the synchro and countershaft assemblies.

I had the issue on my '04, and I believe it is due to some of the parts being mfr'd at the edge of tolerance. I haven't had a problem since the repair, though it is notchy when cold.
