Hey everyone,

I was sitting at work today wondering how hard it is to modify your own hood? I mean, what would you need to do to make your own cuts, etc. I'm always up to try something new, maybe this is a thought. What does it require?

After spending a lot of time researching i've realized I love a lot of the customized hoods on here, but I wanna see if I can cut my own and make it "original". Just thoughts, nothing too serious. What does everyone think?

I think its a horrible idea. Not to mention that when you go to sell your car, you're gonna have to spend $1000 to replace it with a new OEM hood.

You're better off to buy an aftermarket hood in the design you like, and not to wreck your stock hood.

 

I'm more than 99.9% positive i wouldn't even try this. Especially since I don't think I could see laying a cut to my car as it is, but I am curious as to how others do it. I mean.. they have to start somewhere. What is the process? May be a horrible thread to start, but it got me interested to find out how it's done.

 

I hope you know someone who can weld aluminum...

 

Most folks start with Fiberglass not aluminum
