Default Modifying Exhausts

Does anyone know what spugen exhaust would sound like if you cut out the resonator? Has anyone done it?

Thanks

Don't and if you do keep it around because you'll want to put it back on. I took the stock exhaust's resonator out and it sounded nice but then after a while i guess the exhaust "breaking in" i started to get resonance, really bad at around 3.5k and up and lots of vibration and humming noise inside cabin.

Thanks I read your post about that earlier but my resonator has gone bad. This would be on my Spugen exhaust

If the stock exhaust got the resonance, vibration and humming noise inside the cabin i would imagine and aftermarket exhaust would be worse. take it off and just weld a pipe in it's place but do keep the resonator because you may want to sell it. Also read my post about "Exhaust drone explained" it talks about resonators and things like that.

If you have a stock exhaust and you are getting drone after taking off your resonator, you have a leak in your exhaust somewhere, probably on the welds on the replacement pipe for your resonator. You should check that cause it is common for the tech to be too lazy to weld on the top edge and the weld will break.

If you take off the resonator for the spugen, be prepared for a Invidia like drone, probably 90% of how an Invidia in the cabin. The sound behind the car is awesome tho. It's the tradeoff...do some soundproofing when you do it to enjoy it.

I (and many others) have removed the resonator and are happy with the results. Just like picking an aftermarket exhaust it is a matter of taste.
