My experience behind the wheel of an S2K
The S2000 may not be for you then ...
Why the controls? So you can keep the radio door closed most of the time, and could fiddle with volume, mute, etc without taking your hands off the steering.
It's up to you though. One could talk about the digital gauges, engine sound, etc all day long. But at the end of the day, it's whether this car is for you or not. Maybe if you are looking for another car, you might want to look into other things like the E92 335i coupe or G37? It sounds like you would enjoy those better

No I'm not disappointed about it, just kind of.. surprised.
I'm probably still going to buy it, I think the super ugly blue, combined with the lip kit and veilside hood really kinda put me off.

When I first got the S2000, I never used the radio gauge cluster. Once I started using it, I can't picture living without it. I'm even going to spend an extra $100 or so when I get my aftermarket head unit JUST so I can keep those controls.
Pitch of the engine, can be changed pretty easy. K&N, AEM, Fujita all change the sound of your engine. Go to a local meet with S2000s and see what you like. I personally have the K&N intake with my resonator removed, all done under $300 and to me it sounds perfect.
Best of luck
If that's how you feel, keep the RSX. It's a good car, and you'll never be able to buy a new one again. Get the car you really want; if you don't love the color to begin with, odds are you never will. Check out a black interior?
The S2000 instruments really just take a short time to get used to. After getting mine, I spent the first night just sitting in the car, playing with everything.
(Comon, admit it, you others were guilty of this too. =P ) Once I acclimatized to the controls, I found everything immediately at the tip of my finger without having to so much as glance down or "feel" for it. Fits like a glove to me. Heck, I find myself reaching for imaginary controls when I drive any other car now. haha. I never realized how useful the layout was or what I was missing until I got it.

I think the S was made by people and for people that do not get too hung up on the things that are bothering you. The car is not perfect from top to bottom, the focus is on the drive. Not trying to be a d*ck, just saying this may not be the right car for you.
I'm going to go ahead and say what others may be scared to say
You come on our forum and bash our car? You could have kept those thoughts to yourself. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that.
Go back to clubrsx with that shit.

I used to own a 2002 RSX Type-S, with quite a bit of mods. It would be neck and neck with my friends 04 s2000 on a straight line. I had the CAI, exhaust, etc. The RSX engine died on a long trip and long story made short Acura would not pay for it. I bought the MY06 S2k 6 months later. These are not quite comparing apples and oranges, but maybe oranges and tangerines. Still not quite the same thing. I really liked my RSX but I LOVE the S2k - I hate the downgrades in luxury, but this is a much more focused and driver's car. Everything is driver oriented and its like the passenger seat is there just for aesthetic balance. The sounds the car make will all make sense when you drive it for a full day - putting it through the paces. I hope I helped a little bit - go with your gut
From the first time I got in my s2000 I thought the dash and buttons were distributed out PERFECTLY. You have perfect control of all the cars features (especially volume up and fan control) without even taking your hands off the steering wheel. A great deal of planning went into that aspect of the car.

I didn't think I needed to explain this. The reason Honda created Acura was so their "higher end" cars wouldn't have the Honda image associated with them. It's obvious that you will find a lot more luxury in an Acura than in a Honda. This isn't just coincidence. I'm not talking about build quality or reliability. So again, the S2000 is a Honda, and the RSX is an Acura.
