Since it's getting to be that hot time of year again, I decided to buy some custom window shades for my S. I got them from http://www.autosunshields.com made by Lee & Bailey's Aircraft Plastics. They were around $50 shipped. They keep interior temps down significantly. I don't always use the side ones because they (actually only one of them) are a pain in the rear end to put on. One of them is easy, since you can put it on from inside the car, but the last one takes a bit of skill to put on before you close the door. Overall, fit and finish is excellent. They even come with a little waterproof bag to keep them in. Here are some pics (freshly washed too ). I got mine made with custom color edging (blue of course).

Hardcore. You could get the side windows tinted and not have to worry about the side pieces.

True. That's an option I may consider, although I like my side window shades.

It looks good. However, the price is rather steep. What about this one from Handa for around $20? Anyone have experience with this on their S? I am thinking about getting this cheaper one for the summer. Thanks!

If you order just the windshield shade with standard green binding, it's $25. Not too far off the Handa one. Plus you get the bag. I paid the extra $20 for side shades and custom blue binding because I didn't want green.

Very nice. I've been needing to do the same thing since my windows aren't tinted either. I've looked at the local stores but they are a one size fits all and dont have any thing for the side windows.

Car covers are big rear-end pain if you know what I mean. I actually have one sitting in the closet from my previous car. I use the car everyday and I definitely do not have the time to mess with a car cover. If I were leaving the car for weeks at a time, yes I'd use the car cover.
