dumbass, you can't afford this car if you can't afford insurance, I bet you eat top ramen and can't afford to buy your kids new shoes just so you can drive around in a nice car.

All of you calling him a dumbass and this and that need to chill the hell out.
I dont know the guy but everyone makes bad choices, you dont know his situation like GT NFR said. He came here on the forums to ask for help figuring out what to fix. Not to sit there and be called a dumbass or idiot for not having insurance. U guys really to need chill out. Whats the point in insulting him? is it making you feel better about yourself? give him a break and help him out. I tried but cant figure out whats missing but I agree that they probably tried to steal your car and failed. If you have a trusted mechanic get it towed to the shop

We aren't calling him a dumbass to make ourselves feel better, we're calling him a dumbass because he's a dumbass. like a dumbass pregnant chick complaining about being pregnant cuz she was too much of a dumbass to use birth control.

No one wants this dumbass to get ripped off, but what the hell. The one post where the guy asks what happens when this dumbass plows into someone sums it up perfectly. The dumbass should have left the detail about no insurance out. If the dumbass had insurance, he never would have had to create this dumbass post, his car would be at the dealer right now getting fixed.

Sometimes the only way to help out a dumbass is to show him what a dumbass he actually is.

there will always be flamers.
unless jesus buys an s2k and logs onto this forum, theres no one perfect in s2ki. everyone has done something very stupid and we could all laugh at, luckily you dont post it up on forums. this guy did, because he needed help.

im sorry i cant help you here, not much of an electrical person.

but what i do recommend, is as soon as it is fixed, please get some sort of high end alarm.

get one with a proximety sensor, so once they cut the top and put something in the car, the whole car will blare. paging one isnt so bad, you can program it to a high volume so itll wake u up if the blaring alarm doesnt.

alarms like those cost around $500 INSTALLED at like bestbuy, pays for itself the next time you hear it blare IMO.

Guys take it easy, and cool it with the dumbass remarks. Like others stated, you don't know what happened. Maybe he got fired, and could no longer afford to drive the car, so he canceled his insurance and parked the car until things get better. If he does indeed have no insurance and drives around, then ok, rip him up, but until you know the story, relax yourselves. Some of you noobs need to stick your undersized pee pee into your oversized mouths.

Wow man, that sucks big time. I have some bad news for you as well. This is going to be very expensive. You need a new ignition switch with new keys (they took the old one and can actually make a key from it if they know what they are doing). Therefor you will need to rekey the door locks to match the new key (unless you want to use 2 different keys). Also you will need to have the new keys programmed to your ecu. You need to find out who the best locksmith is in your area, this job requires a device that plugs into your obdII to program the keys... they will be way cheaper than the dealer.. but it is still going to be pricey. GOOD LUCK.

BTW... you need to get that car the hell out of there ASAP! Do you know anyone with a garage you could borrow or possibly rent? THEY WILL COME BACK NO DOUBT!!!!!

Atleast go pull some relays out and disconnect a few wires under the hood

I know that you are getting drilled already, but really, this is just an excuse on your part. Insurance goes into effect when you pay for it, and you should NEVER cancel your current insurance before you get a new policy..... in reality if you dropped one policy for another and had a gap of a few days to 1 week what would that actually save you, $10 - $50 ? my guess is you haven't had insurance for at least a month or even more because anything else just doesn't make sense, and it doesn't take a month for a policy to go into effect, it's not a security clearance you're applying for. If you have ever been hit by someone with no insurance you would understand. good luck, i'm sure this has taught you a lesson, or at least I hope so...

....if you honestly have not driven the car even once since you dropped your insurance then I apologize, but I would have to see you say(type) that to believe it....
