Need advice about car registration
Hey guys, I financed my car through a local credit union and they told me that they would take care of all the DMV paper work. I was wondering if it's ok for me to drive the car? I don't have a temp DMV registration paper. Actually, I have no documentation that the car is registered with DMV. What should I do? Go to DMV and register the car myself and get a temp registration paper or should I not drive the car until I get the registration from the DMV? I wanna have fun but don't want any hassle from the cops. Please help
Usually when you buy a used car, they give you a temporary registration paper to put in the window. Other then that, does the car have current tags? Did it have a registration paper from the previous owner? You can use those until you get your paperwork from the DMV. THey should mail you something.
You just bought the car and the po-po are leaniant with that stuff. As long as you have insurance

Quick, I have insurance and the tag is good. It's just that the registration is still under the previous owner. When we went to sign the paper work at my bank, the owner was also with me. The loan officer told me that she would take car of the paper work and the owner didn't have to get a bill of sale or whatsoever. We were glad that we didn't have to do anything except to sign a few documents. I didn't think of the registration until now. I just don't want any harassment from the local cops. They're pretty picky around here and there are too many of them here. The ratio is like 5:1, cops to motorists.
There wont be no problem. If you do get pulled over just show them the previous owners registration and your insurance for the car. They wont harass you for it. If you want to keep some paperwork for proof of purchase that could also be a good thing.
