Do a search on first oil changes; there is a ton to read.
Let me just say if it were me, I would leave that OEM fluid in the engine until about 4,000 miles. Do not change it early. Honda claims there is an additive in there that needs to stay in the engine so the break in is properly done.
Drive like an old lady for the first 600 plus miles or so.
Do not go above 5,500 rpms, do not lug the car in gear below 2,0000 rpms, do not give the engine full throttle. Once you have 600 miles you can go past 6,000 rpms and grab VTEC. If it were me I would NOT take it to 9,000 rms. I broke mine in as follows.
MILES / RPM RANGE
0-600 / 0-5,500 - no full throttle, no constant engine speeds held
600-650 / 0-6,500 - just bouncing up and letting rpms down once in a while
650-700 / 0-7,500 - running into VTEC and staying up there for short times
700-750 / 0-8,500 - running into VTEC and staying at hi revs for longer times
750- drive it like you stole it
And yes, if this thread gets a lot of replies I

30 miles on your car doesn't mean a thing. Mine had a lot more than that. They had to get it from another dealer.
Change your oil just like your owners manual states. Do check it often. you might have to add once in a while.
Don't drive the car hard for the first 600 miles. Like before, do what your manual says. Other wise have a good time and enjoy your new car.

i bought mine used with 1800 miles on it... i was VTEC-ing it pulling out of the dealership!
and with 48kmi on it now... cruising through the neighborhood in 1st gear at 30mph, the s2000 makes a wonderful, wonderful noise. i'm not sure the neighbors approve, though

The car should have come with an OWNER'S MANUAL. Many of your questions will be answered there. Many more will be found in this forum's library. The rest will be in the threads of this forum. When you've done all this reading, you'll still have more questions. Ask them here and we'll do the best we can to answer them.
