Default Need help on hood pin arrangement!!!!!

Okay, got some hood pins to secure the hood down to the car for track days, but I haven't riveted the sparco latches down yet. My question is, how would you have the latches arranged on the hood?

option 1: have the latches horizontally attached (with pins either going towards center or away from center of car)

option 2: have the latches vertically attached (with pins going to the front of the bumper or pins going towards the windshield.

Taking opinions now.

I installed mine horizontally, with the long ends pointing away from the center. Did you drill holes into the body of the car for the "stems/poles" of the hood pins? If not, consider this.... Just take out the black rubber bumpers, the ones that you can twist to adjust the height of the hood in the front. Then just install the "stems" in those holes. Thats what I did.... Good luck!

thnx, that's what I was thinking about having the long stems away from the center of the car. That's exactly what I did by using the black rubber grommet holes for the poles of the hood pins. Hopefully my friend can let me borrow the rivet gun so I can rivet in the latches to the hood rather than screwing them in.
