Go by your mileage minder or once per year.

Get an oil analysis if you want to stretch it otherwise follow the book. Don't follow like a sheep all engines and driving conditions are different. Maybe learn how to write properly too...

Thanks for all the helpful advice guys, I was just asking because when you get your oil change they tell you to change it ever 3,000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first. So that's why I was asking if I should do it ever 3 months even if I'm not going to drive the 3,000 miles or just change it everytime I reach the 3,000 miles, but I got the answer I was looking for.
First of all, if you read the S2000 manual, you will note that the OCI is 7,500 mi or 12 months. Hopefully your S has one still - lots of good info in it.
Second, if you bother to get your used oil analyzed, you will see that you can easily go longer between changes as the average oil still has plenty of life even after hard use and 8k mi.
If you really care, get some used oil analyses done and learn about what is happening inside the engine, and then you'll really know how often to change it and if you need an special oil.
I change my oil once a year, because I like doing it and because I hit the 12 month interval more than anything.

Who is "they"? As stated above, if it's the person selling you something then don't rely on that person alone (regardless of topic). Always consider the source.
