The rearward facing laser sensor is located to the right of the bogey counter and to the left of the laser/Ka/K/X band LEDs.

I have the Alpine system, Brian, but I can't remember which model. Even with lots of tinkering and adjustments, it sets off lots of false alarms and is very sensitive to changes in weather and temperature. I'd look at other brands.

I think its the proximity sensors which are so sensitive to weather conditions (barometric pressure) So If you want some protection when the top is down its a catch 22!

I have a Viper with proximity sensor and have the same issues, especially now that the weather is cold all the time. Dont think different brands will help much. Nothing a small adjustment wont fix until the weather changes!

Also I was told the cell phones can interfere with theses sensors, so dont leave your cell in the car even if its off.

mikes2k, thanks for the additional info. I am glad someone with a Viper system spoke up, because that's the brand I am first considering. Overall, are you happy with it? Is it worth the money?

Whoa! I didnt know there was a "secret compartment". I had to run out to the parking lot to see if my S had one. It does! Moved my sunglasses there and my little CD Case. I really need to get an owners manual one of these days. Is there any other secrets I need to know about?

Rick, this is yet another fine example of your tireless pursuit of over-researched and ridiculously complicated modifications.

But beautifully done of course, as are the rest of them.

Do me a favor? If I can ever afford an S2k, let me drive down to your house and spend a few weeks (months? heh) copying everything you've done. Your car must be MAD cool by now.
