New owner observations
I’ve been an enthusiast for many years on s2ki now I’m a happy owner of a 2004 Silverstone/black with 25k on the clock. It’s stock other than the AEM V2 intake. Been my daily for 2 months and here are a few of my observations:
I make excuses to drive it, definitely the most fun car ever! I take the back roads to exploit the fun of the car and I’m never in a hurry to get home.
The ride is smoother and quieter than I expected with the top up. No need for hardtop for me.
Handles better than I expected, short test drives don’t do it justice.
Gets good gas mileage, averaging 25 mpg combined city/hwy.
The car is designed for the track. VTEC doesn’t come in to play with normal city driving. You can hit it here and there but nothing like you really want to.
Don’t like the occasional first gear pop out.
Don’t like the rough shifting of 2nd 3rd but that goes away after it’s warmed up.
Not that expensive to maintain if you’re a DIY. Did all the fluid changes with the help of s2ki.
Stereo is OK after adding 6” speakers in the hoops.
Never going to sell this car, love it too much and it took a long time to find a clean original owner.
Thanks for all the help convincing me of this fine car. Now it’s time to go for a drive.

Shouldn't be popping out of 1st gear.
My search on the topic suggests user error or 2nd gear synchros?
It violently popped out of first this morning. The rest of the day I paid attention to it and noticed it engaged like 95% one time. That may have been the problem?
