A friend of mine bought from Grand Honda and didn't have anything negative to say about them. No idea how they treat the general public though...

I was very pleased with the way Bender Honda in Clovis, NM treated my brother, Schatten, and Clovis. They have been great... if you need an S2000, call there and ask for Bruce.

Well, I talked to them only once, and I was not overly impressed by the salesman. No, actually, I was impressed. Very well trained in pressure selling, psychological games, etc. I'm in sales myself, so I can appreciate the art. But at the same time I'm good at recognizing those tactics for what they are. Needless to say, he did not make a sale.

But I used the ad they were running that week as a benchmark when talking to other dealers. If you let them know that there are five cars for sale at $30,500 it will be more difficult for them to argue for full MSRP or above.

Oh, and any ads I mention here are in no way meant as an endorsement of the dealer(s).

bottom line - a car is an expense, not an investment... once you've let go of the cash, enjoy the ride...

Today's Tribune once again includes an advertisement from Schaumburg Honda. "Manager's Special": MY2001 S2000, Spa Yellow, for $29,995. It would almost seem this is the same car that was advertised a few weeks ago, so perhaps they are "more motivated" to sell it by now.

(847) 88-HONDA or their web site

The usual disclaimer: I've never dealt with them, don't know if they are respectable, what other charges they put on top, etc.

Good luck.

Logic would deem that the location is the factor in what prices are.
You live in South California...(lucky you . )
The Chicago area with it's horribly built, beat up dull curve-less roadways along with congestion, bad drivers and winter season would be one of the places you might get anything that is not an SUV, mini-van or pickup for a bargain
