Thanks for the update, and hopefully the fix will hold up. Since no new TSB# came out of this, can we assume it was covered under the old one?

I am not aware of a TSB on the 4th gear problem but had no problem when I took mine in last August. I simply described the conditions that caused it to slip out of gear and the dealership and the tech-line agreed on a fix. I think they replaced 3rd and 4th gear and a shift fork. Has been fine ever since (but no help for the hot 2nd gear grind that already had that TSB done).

a few months ago, I took my car in for this problem, the dealer test drove it for 14 miles, without duplicating the problem (of course). They said that without duplication, they can't justify pulling the tranny out, costs too much time and money they said. I really really need somebody's help that can recommend a dealer in the Northern CA area that will fix this damn problem, it's not happening THAT often, but often enough. It's to the point that if nervous anticipating a "pop out" any second, If I wanted to deal with problems like this, I would have bought a beater, not an S2000.... Somebody help!

oh yes, one more thing, the dealer said that there is no such TSB, can someone help me prove them wrong?? This is really bugging me, almost enough to sell the car and order a 2002 model.

The dealers are wrong. I have a paper copy of this TSB, it is TSB 01-100. I don't have a scanner to post it up, but I DO HAVE a copy of this TSB which was released in Dec. 01'.

After getting print, I asked the advisors how would they go about to determine if a cust should get the fix or not. They said, the problem must be duplicated with the presence of an advisor or mechanic. I had made an appoinment on March 9th, hoping I can show them the problem.

Call the number in your Owner's Manual for the Honda customer service in your area.

Many thanks to 'mstw'. Since he gave the number (TSB01-100) I am getting the work AND I got a paper copy and emailed a scan of it to HondaGal. She should be posting it soon in the library.
