Default Newbie S2k

High guys just joined the board and i really hate to ask such newb questions but (here goes): How many of you couldn't wait for 600 miles to start hitting vtec in your cars? If you did are there any long term problems or worries i should be concerned about? I tried to wait it out till 600 but i started getting a heavier foot the more i drove it. After 350 miles on the odo i started hitting vtec 2-3 times a day. Last question, is anyone else as addicted to driving this car as much as me? i get home from work an find myself taking detours just so i can drive it more.

You're car will be fine. Do try and take it easy while breaking it in, but you gotta figure every S2k that was test driven was VTECed and they are still on the road running strong more than likely

I started VTEC'n at 500 miles. I gradually built up to vtec'n more and more from 500-800. I still babied the shifts though. Before then, every shift I made was around 5k with nice wasy shifts too.

I think that is a bit excessive during the break in period, unless you are driving 2-300 miles per day.

I was doing about 80 miles per day. Would it be too late to start going easy on it? I ASSumed since people probably beat the hell outta the car before i even took delivery of it, that it would be ok to drive it a lil hard.

Saw online (i believe it was from motoman) that the best way to break in a car is to run it really hard an never look back.

Well i'll just go back to babying the car. I've been easy on the clutch, (no drag racing) brakes and tranny so i think my s2k will be in good shape. Just wanted further input from fellow owners.
