I guess I need to find out where I went awry. I just filled up and checked my mileage and it was 28.2 mpg. Now the problem... half of that tank was consumed at an autocross drivers school in 1st and 2nd gear at or near 9000 RPM. The other half was normal daily driving. I normally get around 20 to 23 mpg in normal daily driving. I think that someone has been putting gas in my tank when I wasn't looking???

I normally shift between 3-4K. I've only filled up twice since getting the car last Thursday. On the first tank, I got 26 mpg. I was a little amazed, but quite pleased

I usually shift between 5 and 6k, normal cruising around 3500k. Occasionally (at least once a day) I venture high into V-tec land 8500-9000 rpm. Oil consumption varies greatly dependant on how hard you drive it. Average mileage usually around 22-25 mpg.

The car is always above 3k unless at a stop. I also skip shifts say 1st to 3rd (town) or 3rd to 6th (highway).

For normal cars, that's right. In Hondas, you don't want to spend much time (if any) below 3k; shift 4k-5k for everyday driving. I get 21-24mpg in mostly city driving, over 30mpg highway.
