Mine has done this since I brought it home 20,000 miles ago. It shakes so hard that it sounds like it is hitting the frame, just after you kill the ignition.

I notice it too, when I turn it on or off. Also sometimes after I shift out of reverse into 1st.

Your fuel injectors are not shutting off. There is still some pressure at the fuel rail. What you are experiencing is dieseling.

isn't this also an issue due to the fact that the S2K is an I4???

I just sold my CLS prior to the S2K and it seems like I4s just have issues in terms of keeping the motor in balance vs. a V6.

That has been my conclusion so far about this car. The motor shutters when i shut it of.

I thought it was a cool thing about this car.

my 2cents-

Mine does it as well, and I think it's a cool thing about the car too. It's a tangible reminder that there is indeed a powerful brute inside that deceptively smooth engine!

I don't think so. Dieseling implies there is still some combustion going on and this doesn't usually happen on new cars. I think it has more to do with the F20C being such a high compression engine and being an inline 4, which isn't the smoothest configuration.
