What the heck were they doing with a flathead screwdriver in the first place? Aren't the screws Philips?

How would that be a wear hole? Wear doesn't occur "against the grain" as that shows or even in that spot. I'll take a picture of a wear hole in my top if they want.

I have no idea man. I mean correct me if im wrong but I have yet to read a post from someone on here about having there top wear in that spot. Its just so frustrating right now. I really dispite dealerships. To top it off, the service manager has the guts to tell me hes seen it on a few other s2k's. Bs. Not in that spot. I just want them to fix what they damaged and I think my case is pretty damn strong

I don't think anything even touches that spot, so how could it wear?

If a dealer ever tried pulling something like that on my car he would be getting a screwdriver between the ribs.

Maybe a good lawyer could convince a jury it's just a wear spot.

My thoughts exactly. It didnt wear, they f****ed it up, period. I sure hope things get resolved. His statment to this exact question I asked him was from putting the new latch on, the extra tension caused the slit. LOL. Thats when he proceeded to say hes seen it on a few others. He also said that the latch can cause it from the top being put up and down, inotherwords its a wear problem from the latch and use of the top in general.

Lawyer will probably cost more than a new top...

This is what the dealer's insurance is for.
