Default Not happy with my Honda

Hi. I like a nice, tight Honda S with no rattling or unwanted noises. Recently, I was ecstatic because another poster helped me diagnose and solve a roof clicking noise. I simply adhere some thin padding between two metal pieces that hit against each other and cause noise.

However, the clicking has returned because I have not found a material that can withstand the beating that two metal pieces dish out at over 75 mph. Even Dr Scholl's pads wear out.

It's ironic, I know exactly where the noise is coming from, but can't find a permanent material to place between the two metal parts that rub.

Has anyone found a permanent solution?

I would try a plastic or similar. Something that will last much longer. I would try with polyurethane.

This will sound weird but I'll bet ya it'll work. There's this stuff called second skin in a Spenco Blister kit available at any CVS for $20 or $30. Sounds like a lot of dough but theres a ton of stuff in the kit. Anyway this second skin is very durable stuff like a jelly but comes in sheets and you cut out the size you need wrap it in tape and it'll hold up against any wear and tear.
It's made to prevent you from tearing open blisters that would prevent you from running. I ran a 1/2 marathon with blisters so bad I couldn't get my shoe on, and I apllied this stuff over the blisters, taped it up and it was like a miracle. Told ya it would sound weird but this stuff is tough and besides you never know when the rest of the stuff in the kit will come in handy. If you wrapped this stuff around the metal and applied their tape to cover it I can't see how the clicking could continue.
Anyway good luck solving the issue, my top has never made a peep.
