Details= it has 68,000 miles 1 owner garage kept and in awesome shape it is black on black and the top looks almost new. Got car fax and the car is mint

So I ask what should I pay for this car? I was thinking $8500-9000 do you guys think this is a fare offer?

Thanks for any help you can provide

I am going to treat this as a legitimate question. If you offer that they will be insulted and probably not call back. That is a fair offer for twice as many miles, a messed up top, a fading paint job, and a rough interior. Unless they really need cash. How much are they asking for the car? Because from your description, if you can get it for $15k id call it a deal.

He wants KKB on the car which is 12500 I told him I would pay Edmunds or NADA for which that is what most car dealers pay has it listed for 8500 I really don't see the problem with the offer I feel it is fare and besides the car hasn't been driven in two years for the guy and is wife are to old now to get in the car.

I am not sure where you are located but KBB in my area for the car in just good condition is $16,500, so I am not sure where your $12,500 is coming from.

That being said if you can get the car for $8,500-9,000, I would run out and buy it now. That's a steal in my eyes.

Maybe I missed it (or maybe it doesn't show because I'm using tapatalk), but you haven't listed location or year of the car.

If the guy is asking kbb and you don't like the price, politely tell him what you think is fair (fare is not the word you think it is) and make the offer. He will probably say no if the car truly is mint like you say. Someone else will likely pay what he is asking or at least closer to it.

Just because he told you he has trouble getting in the car doesn't mean he is forced to sell and accept an amount below the car's private party sale price, whatever that may be. For all you know, he can wait patiently until the cows come home.

First of all, you arent a car dealer, second, the book prices are all over the map to the point that they are basically worthless. From your description, 12,500 is a steal, stop trying to take advantage of the elderly.

So i am looking to get a 2005 s2000 from Kansas area. And the person says it has 25k miles on it. He says that there is no body damage, but its a prior salvage title to theft.

With that being said, what does a salvage title do to a persons insurance? And would it be worth buying it since it has that salvage title anyways?

This person is asking 12.8k for it.

In the market for an S, and came across this. 2001 GPW S2000 with Red leather seats.96k miles comes with an extra long block, mugen rep carbon hard top, bronze work emotions, tein springs, and some AP2 stuff. The gentleman is asking $14,800. The only thing it's missing is the entirety of the soft top. The top, the mechanism, everything. I want to be fair, but I also want to negotiate down due to it not having a soft top (which I will want for the fall season when it's cool enough to actually put down), because I have no idea how much it would cost to be replaced. Thoughts?

Unless someone stole the car and took the engine and interior, he's full of it. Check it out, and all the panels as well as the engine for the VIN numbers. Once you find the unoriginal parts, you should be able to get an idea of the damage.
