Looking at a 2003 Sebring silver OEM hard top, 26K one owner. Very clean condition. Asking 19.5K, is it worth that?
Black or red interior?

If red 19.5k is a very good deal. If black its an ok deal.

Black interior. Which is my preference.

Straight to the point (i can answer questions about poutine if you want to ask or anything else btw), i'm looking forward to buy a S2000. I recently sold my 1999 Civic Si (SiR in Canada) planning to get an upgrade. I never liked modifying cars like, port and polish, turbos etc. That's why i kept my old Si stock but i need something faster, more raw, more fun to drive hehe.

Sooooo, i'm looking at the S2000 here. A lot of 2005+, a lot of 150,000km + (~100k miles), ones that were in accidents etc. I really want a clean one, no mods, low mileage, no winter, no accidents, etc. Thing is that they seem to be rare. Then i see this grey 2002 with ~55,000km (~35,000 miles) near mint condition (on picutres). Car is 2 hours drive from here (heading there in 2 days to look at the thing). Price, 19,000$ CAD (~$18,200 USD). Looks a bit overpriced to me but 2004+ models are easily 20,000$ CAD. Most 2006-2007 with low mileage will get to 25,000$. Now, would you pay that for an AP1 ?

Something just came to my mind regarding THIEVES. I hate them (who doesn't). I got my first 2000 Si stolen and last summer, got my wheels stolen along with my front bumper lip and others weird things in the car (like the driver's headrest, ipod fm transmitter, money tray, etc.). I'd appreciate feedbacks regarding what people are looking for on S2000 and how to protect these parts (if possible). I saw the locks for the seats, looks awesome, i'd probably get those; anything else ?

Best regards,

trep
Hey Trep, welcome to the forum you came at the right place.

I would also add a hard top as a requirement for my ideal S2k. And that's only for winter but for thieves as well!
Regarding thieves, they are after the nice leather seats of the S2k..There are several methods to protect your car, search the forum for more info!

All the best to locate your ideal S2k!

Hi guys, I'm a newb here. I've just started shopping for an S2000 as a weekend car. Most cars I'm seeing on AutoTrader are priced several thousand above the averages of Edmunds, NADA and KBB. I've found a 2005 with only 6,800 miles at a nearby Acura dealer. I'm not sure how a 10 year old car only has 6,500 miles. Could that limited use actually be a bad thing? It looks pristine in the pics, but they are asking $24,999 for it. That's $4k above book value averages. They said they might be able to negotiate in "hundreds" not "thousands."

As I'm new to shopping for an S2000, what's a fair price for such low miles? What should I offer?

Meanwhile, there's a private seller up the road that has the same car, but with more typical miles (48k) who is asking $18,900. I haven't contacted him, so I'm not sure if he's willing to negotiate. Also, there is one accident showing up on his CarFax.

What do you think is a reasonable offer for this listing? I would like to get closer to $17k but am not sure this is possible.

If the car is really clean (hard to tell from photos), then you're already looking at a good price. In the interior photo, that steering wheel looks chewed up. Not sure how that is even possible unless a long-nailed gorilla was driving this .

If that low mileage S2K is really that clean, someone will probably pay asking or near - and the dealer knows it. Can't hurt to try.

I also bought mine at an Acura dealer some years ago and was able to negotiate new OEM tires and windshield into the price. Easy for them since are really a fancy Honda dealer.

Agree with 2Kaputnik, although you could probably still drive the price a little lower. Suzuka isn't an "in demand" color and winter is coming. The price they had it for initially was insane!

If the only thing "wrong" with the car was a grungy steering wheel, then 17K as an offer would be reasonable, and paying 18-18.5 would be fair. Again, I've never seen that kind of wear to a steering wheel, especially at 37 k mi. Is that the result of wearing driving gloves? Was the car tracked?

Also....it might be just me or just the photos, but does the driver side front fender look like a questionable color match? You would certainly want this vehicle inspected and to see a CARFAX, check panel VINs etc.

BTW Suzuka looks awesome when well maintained and 2006 is the only time the S2K was offered with blue-black interior.
