Official Is This Car Worth It Thread vol 3
Any pictures? From what you've listed 14.5k is a pretty killer deal for a 20 year old car with under 70k miles. I'd check for all 10 VIN tags if you can. but if i were you, unless there are any red flags, i'd jump on that.
My only beef is the year, I'd want 2003 or ap2 and settle for more mileage to satisfy that. Just for whatever reason 2000s always feel a bit less desirable whenever I've went to see one in person.
Pics are definitely required.

Top is in good condition and doesn’t have any knicks or tears. He talked about how he always stopped halfway down so that he could make sure the plastic window folded evenly. Interior looks pretty perfect, other than the normal driver’s side bolster wear, but even that isn’t too bad.
My goal was a 02/03, but this just seems like a great deal. I still get the AP1, which I wanted, but just have a couple of things I’ll have to live with. I’m fine with that. I’ve had a 2000 and a 2001 in the past.
Yeah I hear ya, you really gotta cover all your bases. Get yourself a magnet and check all the panels too. Earlier this year I ran a free Canada wide sgi vin check on one and it showed everything he mentioned, before signing I paid 50$ for proper worldwide vin check and it showed a $20,000 accident in Hawaii. The lengths some people will go through is absurd.

Looking for a later model S2K w/ a hardtop and came across this Thats local to me. I think its a good price but just wanted a second opinion. I plan on checking the under carriage and what not at the dealer, and a PPI as well if cosmetically everything matches up. Based on the Carfax mileage per owner, looks like the first and third owner daily drove the car for the short time they owned it.

I know this dealer, and they aren't the best (but not bad either). I had looked at a 2008 last year (Laguna blue) that sat on their lot for a long time. I was hammered - mechanically and cosmetically - and they were asking far too much for it. This one looks decent (from the pics), but the photos were taken while the car was dirty - inside and out. Go over it carefully and test drive it. The inside looks fairly worn, but it could just be that it needs cleaning.
With the hardtop included, it's not a bad price. Just make sure the soft top is in good shape and if not, DO NOT let them change it. They put a new top on the 2008 I looked at last year and it was a terrible install. The service manager noted he replaced it and when I drove it, the glass rattled against the roll hoops and wasn't aligned properly on the bars when closed.

Is that really Berlina Black? I'm seeing some purple on my end.
Also, check the front bumper, it doesn't quite line up with the passenger side headlight at the very least. See if anything happened there.
