Official Is This Car Worth It Thread vol 3
The general consensus here seems to be one of concern and that this car is likely not worth the money being asked for it (I don't think anyone could say for sure based on just the photos you've shared). If you've got that much to spend on a S2000, I'm guessing that you can do better. We bought a 2005 with 24K miles last year for $21,500. With the exception of a single ding that it so small small it is hard to capture in photos and a slight amount of rim rash on a couple of the wheels as well as under the bottom of the front bumper, the car is dead mint. By that I mean that the interior looks like the car has maybe a couple thousand miles on it and the paint looks amazing. Things like the entirety of the engine bay along with all of the hinges in the doors and the trunk are spotless and free of any kind of grease based dirt build up. Open up the gas cap and it's just as clean in there. All of the rubber bits are still in great shape as is the top. There is also documentation of the car being serviced on an annual basis since new. I would likely have a hard time finding another 2005 that was just a clean for the same price, but they are out there. I do believe that these cars are starting to rise in value, but there are still amazingly clean cars to be had for those with the money to spend. Given your budget, I think that you can do better than this car if you're patient. However, if you're finding that to be harder than you might have imagined since starting your hunt for a S2000 then in the end it's your money and your decision. Good luck.
Referring to the brake light picture... From what it looks like I think all third brake lights look like that. I think that is the inconstancy in gluing from factory. I can't say for sure though. Overall, I don't think it looks so bad at all really... A lot of folks go through these cars quick as a summer car, or they always wanted one and didn't realize how impractical they are etc. The 4 owners doesn't worry me so much. My 06 had 4 owners before I bought it 2 years ago and I've had 2 nearly trouble free years so far!

I don't have any buyers regret after owning mine for just over a week. I might feel differently if this was my only car but it is serving the role intended, a sun 'n fun car.
To the OP, best of luck in your search. Just go with your gut feeling if something feels off to you.
These are issues I'd be fine with.......on a 75k mile $18k car. For 25k miles this is above normal wear and tear IMO with hints of possible paint/body work. These aren't rare cars, even 2008/2009s, find a better one. You have a good budget and giving it some time you'll likely find a near mint for that price.
I'm looking at a 2003 with 65,000 miles on it, asking $13,500. The price seems pretty low, which has me thinking it might not be accurately represented.
Allegedly, it's trouble free, all original except for aftermarket 17 inch rims. Tires are brand new.
The exterior looks to be in very good shape, with a little wear to the top.
Interior is a bit worn, but no rips or anything excessive.
I'm going to go look at it tonight.
Is $13,500 a really low price if everything checks out on it okay?
