Listing ^^. I thought at first it was definitely worth it at that price especially from a dealer but then I looked at the carfax. While it doesn’t have any accidents reported it did have damage to the entire front of the car sometime between 12k and 18k miles I believe it was. I don’t know now if it’s worth pursuing or not especially at that price point. That aside it’s exatly what I’d want. It’s the perfect color and damn near the best year 2008 (my tastes, I want the newest laguna blue) I can find that I can afford. So what do you all think?
I remember this listing when I was looking for my car... A YEAR AGO

The fact that this car is still available, there's something fishy going on with this car... Stay away.

The s2000 I was looking to buy showed me the $ amounts for each claim. The free SGI vin check only showed me Canadian claims, 2500$ for a small cosmetic claim. Then I paid for a full vin Check with Carfax and there was an undisclosed $15000 accident in the states (Hawaii) when it hsd 16k miles so I walked because that suggests serious structural dmg, police report said "hit guard rail, towed away". People suck.

Pass.

Body panel fitment upfront is shit. Also all four fenders have been rolled/flared which is fine if done properly but the rears were pulled so much that the quarter panels have buckled inwards.

I see the front isn't perfect, but couldn't new clips fix that? Id probably have them adjust the front fitment before negotiating because it's damn near perfect in other aspects, low mileage and all. Aside from that I don't see exactly what your talking about on the rear. If you could knock off 20-25% asking I wouldn't hesitate so long as there's nothing with those rear panels that I just can't see, then perhaps I'd have something to think about.

My budget is lesser and where I'm willing to take the hit is on the mileage because it's a Honda and my Honda's go forever, plus I don't want certain mileage milestones to affect weather I daily it or not. where I am picky is on the body so i know where I stand is tricky. As much as I love bodywork, all I want to have to do this time around redo the interior so it feels new to me in all other regards. And then I can just store it in my heated garage.

Every Honda I've bought I've had to do some bodywork so I'm not allowing that this time around. Engine problems wouldn't even bother me because even a head gasket I could do in a day and spend the money saved on something like suspension, tires, or something for the interior.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Would this be a better option?
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/c...989658096.html

it seems over priced for the amount of miles on it according to KBB. I’m also concerned about how many miles are on it in general. Thoughts?

ONLY if you're dead set on getting the Laguna Blue color. Otherwise, I'd say the car is a bit overpriced. And the seller is probably aware of the rarity of the color.

With the s2000, don't let the mileage steer you away. The s2000 is a very reliable car as long as it hasn't been abused/neglected. Even then it is more reliable than most other cars.

The 2007 seems to be in better condition that the 2008 you linked earlier, even though it is older with higher miles(solely based on quick glance at the pictures). An in person inspection with an s2000 owner or an experienced PPI technician is a must.

That one's probably a better deal if you can talk them down a little. They usually price high expecting people to offer what they actually want. Pay for a check of history and lien.

Curious what you all think about this S2000:
2004 S2000

The mileage is much higher than I'd typically consider. But it is being sold by the original owner, and appears to have been kept in good condition mechanically.

I currently have an '03 with 108k miles, but it's had a ton of issues. I bought it for "good" private party price last year, but I've spent over $2k on repairs since and am just no longer happy with it.
