Looking for a car... ideally would like to spend mid teens, but also would like a car within a few hundred miles.

would like thoughts on the following:
2000 49k mile GPW w/red interior. completely stock. Looks to be as clean/mint as a car can look in pics. older couple owned. Car is 12 hrs from me. asking 16k

2005 18k mile NFR w/black interior. Completely stock, new tires. car is 40 minutes from me. asking 22k. car looks in like new condition. haven't contacted seller, want to know how fair asking price is considering I live in MN and it's november.

2001 52k mile SMS w/black interior. Completely stock. Car is clean has paint imperfection on front fender (some cracking) visible within 3 ft. has updated oem clutch. no accidents, 2 owner car. asking 15.5k car is 4 hrs from me. Not a huge fan of silver, but like the mid teens pricing over 20+

I am thinking a long drive for the white car is in order based on color alone. thoughts>

Wow that looks like a solid deal on the GPW if it checks out. Very desirable color scheme.

Also a fair price on the 2005. I'd definitely buy that one if you could get it in your price range (which I highly doubt). I'd certainly want a good look underneath.

The silver one? Meh, the price is fair but ones like this are pretty common.

Plastic roll hoop garnish has been split, probably from when they installed the 02-09 glass window soft top. No way to repair that, but you can probably find used ones for $100.

Center console has a newer vinyl/leather cover, stock should be carpet for that year.

Front fenders don't appear to be rolled or damaged.

Seems like a good price for fairly low miles. Find out why the front bumper was replaced, get a compression test, have a good mechanic put it up on a lift for inspection. If that checks out and it drives good, I'd buy it.
What you mean by plastic roll hoop thingy I'm a little confused

Behind each seat headrest, there are the roll bar hoops. They are metal, covered in a plastic shroud. That plastic shroud is the "Roll Bar Garnish". In the pictures, both of the garnishes look split apart down the middle (the driver side more than the passenger side). Roll Bar Garnish: http://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-l...r-garnish.html

Drove the 2005 today. Fantastic car. Perfect except for one rock chip on the hood. Offered 19k... No sale. 21 buys it I think. Car exceeded my expectations other than it is comically slow .. At least feels comically slow. Not sure I'm willing to go over 20k. The car is as nice as I'm going to find. Need to sleep on it
