The soft top has been deleted actually. But in the big scheme of things. I'd prefer a hard top anyway! But the price seems relatively good in my opinion. But I have not been around them much!

What do you guys think it's worth? I figure replacement top runs $1500 with labor, maybe some debtless repair to try to get the dings out of the side. I'm thinking that I offer him no more than $12,500 firm and see if he wants to move it. I'll be a cash buyer, so sometimes that can be awful tempting when the money is staring the buyer in the face.

Seems all original 2000 MY S2000's are running $13.5-16k in pristine condition and often lower miles than this one ohm Autotrader, so using that as a gauge. KBB and NADA are obviously way below where the market is on these cars, so that has been no help determining fair pricing.

Yes a top replacement will run you about $1500. Paintless dent repair on the door of these cars CAN be a little more difficult than on other parts of the car, it depends where on the door it is. I have one I need taken care of and the guy quoted me $230 whereas the standard rate is $70 per dent.

Maybe $13k tops, for me. But honeslty he may be able to pull $14k from someone especially with spring just around the corner in TN.

Aside from that, if you decide to buy, I would definitely have the retainers checked. It's one of those ticking time bomb things that since you're not the original owner you would just be gambling if the guy is lying or not. Not worth the gamble for me personally. AP2 I wouldn't worry about.

Hey Guys,

A coworker of mine is finally selling his 2003 Spa Yellow S2000. It is a 4 owner car I believe. He has owned it the past 4 years. The car is just over 14,500 miles. It is in very good cosmetic condition, both interior and exterior. The top is in good condition too. It was serviced at a highly rated Honda dealership, but honestly it never needed anything other than oil changes as he told me. It does need tires and I do need to look a bit more into its history. He is asking 18K for the car. Since I am new to the S2K community I was hoping I could get a little input. I've looked through the "What you've paid" forum to get a general idea of prices but I am still curious about this one. I tried posting it to the what it's worth thread but it keeps on redirecting me here. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Oleg

$10k at the most. It's a 17 year old car with 70k miles. It's most definitely not still worth 50% of its original MSRP 17 years down the line.

Less than 15k miles and already 4 different owners? WTF.

$14.5-15k would be more than a fair offer.

The car was in and out of the dealership we worked at, so 4 years ago he decided to buy it. I'm guessing the dealership appraised it really low and he swung in and bought it when the previous owner traded it in.

4 owners in 13 years ain't so bad, especially considering the very low mileage. If you take care of it and think you'll be keeping the car for a long time it's probably worth it but if you trash it and try to sell it in a couple years then maybe a more used/cheaper S would suit you better. It's up to you what to spend....good luck.

If the car is legit and has been taking care of the way you describe, no accidents or damage, is should be close to a "new" car as you can get for an 03. If the car is the year and color you can enjoy, you can afford it, go for it. Of course see if they will go lower or throw in some new shoes.

At this point a thousand or two either way will not make much of a difference in ownership if you are inclined to keep it and take care of it for a number or years. I got an 09 yellow, 1 owner, 31K, from a dealer that wanted book value. We came to an agreement but I knew I would never see another car of that year/color/condition again.
