Accident could have be as minor as replacing only a bumper. Find out in full detail on the accident and don't let it steer you away. You could possibly use it to your advantage with negotiating on the car. Check for maintance and sometimes his/her word isn't enough. Take it to a shop and get it looked at for a peace of mind. Gl

Thoughts on this car? it's a 2003 GPW with about 85K miles for $15K. All stock. 9/10 VINs (missing the rear bumper VIN). carfax says it was in an accident but no damage. not sure of a scenario where an accident would be reported without any damage? I'm guessing the "accident" happened in the rear bumper where the VIN is missing. But the rear bumper looks perfect. Maybe it was just repainted?
Added pics of the undercarriage and engine bay. Everything looks clean to me. I know the pics arent the greatest. But maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in.

wow. Where are all of you finding this type of deal? Everywhere I look anything under 100k miles & without an accident is like around 14K at least.
Sorry for the late reply, I took awhile to wait for a great deal to come up, the car did need work and new tires all around.

Seems just a tad high, hows the condition of the interior and exterior?
Exterior looks great. I would even say 8/10 only cause the soft top is showing its age. But I don't see any dings/dents, scrapes on the bumpers or on the underside of the bumpers.Tiny curb rash like an inch long on one of the wheels. Brand new tires (goodyear eagle?)
Interior looks good. It's tan/black. I would say 7/10. Normal wear for a 13 year old car i think.. No rips/tears in the seats. Bolsters are obviously flattened out a little. Carpet shows some dirt. Stock everything including radio. Really clean.
So I guess the price is on the high-range but acceptable. it's a dealer so thats what I kind of figured. As long as someone else doesnt come up with soemthing terribly flawed in the pics, I think I leaning toward getting it.
Sorry to bring this thread back to life again but i missed out on the GPW AP1 that i posted above. Stuck in a snowstorm while the car was being sold
But i did find a Spa Yellow '02 with 60K miles. 3rd owner. 9 out of 10 exterior and interior. Mostly stock; Minor upgrades like K&N intake, Kenwood head unit, titanium header bolts, new brakes/rotors/tires. 10/10 VIN stickers on the car.
Owner does not know if the oil banjo bolts were upgraded. The VIN # is in the 3000s suggesting that it's an earlier production I may want to do this. I'll ask him about the engine number on the block after work to confirm this.
How much do you think this car worth?
