Howdy there,
Im currently looking at two S2Ks and I wanted to get your thoughts.
- 2008 Black/Black with 65K miles and a new soft top. Minor road rash on two tires (5spoke).
One owner with all dealer maintenance. Mostly daily driven. Minus hard wet and snow days. Always garaged Asking around $22,000
- 2005 Silver/Red with 35k miles. Minor tear in passenger side soft top. Road rash on all four wheels (10spoke)
One owner with limited vehicle maintenance. Only summer car. always garaged. Asking around $27,000
I like both colors. Wish i could take both.
You thoughts are appreciated~
Peace

Hi A_SpeC,
I just bought my second S2K. My first was a 2006 NFR with 96,000 miles. I bought it for $13.5K and sold it three years later for $12.5K with 135,000. I put almost 40,000 miles on it and only loss $1K in sale price. The new one I bought is a 2008 NFR with 103,000 miles. I paid $17K (dealer, meh, but it was 100% stock, 1-owner vehicle with perfect maintenance records). Three years from now I have no doubt I'll be able to sell it for ~$15K at a $2K loss. Bottom-line: 35,000 miles is worth about $1-3K tops, not $5K.

The '08 is a better car. Read the "Gernby FlashPro tune" threads to get a better understanding of how the '06 and later cars can be easily tuned for noticeable increased midrange power.
65K miles is fine.
You'll want to do all the preventive maintenance on the car, including checking the valve clearance, but that's a different topic and applies to both.
